Border Crisis Deepens as Pending Immigration Cases Exceed Three Million

Payam Javan; The United States is grappling with a record-breaking backlog of over three million pending immigration cases, as reported by the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) at Syracuse University.

Despite increased efforts by the current administration, the backlog has reached unprecedented levels, surpassing even the population of some U.S. cities. TRAC notes that immigration judges, facing an average of 4,500 pending cases each, are overwhelmed, with the situation worsening due to a continuous influx of illegal immigrants at the border.

The surge in immigration cases has been a longstanding issue, dating back to at least 2016, and has intensified in recent months.

The Biden administration, under pressure since the expiration of Title 42 earlier this year, has been dealing with a substantial increase in illegal immigrant encounters.
