Netanyahu’s Firm Stand: Gaza Demilitarization and Security Control Demands

Payam Javan: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected international calls for a cease-fire, stating that Israel will continue its battle against Gaza’s ruling Hamas with “full force.”

Netanyahu conditions a cease-fire on the release of all 239 hostages held by terrorists in Gaza. He also insists on Gaza’s demilitarization and Israel retaining security control, allowing Israeli forces to enter Gaza freely to combat terrorists.

These positions differ from the post-war scenarios suggested by the United States, emphasizing opposition to Israeli reoccupation and envisioning a unified Palestinian government for both Gaza and the West Bank. Netanyahu asserts that the current goal is to achieve victory in the ongoing six-week war against Hamas.
