IDF Issues Urgent Move Order for Gaza City Residents as Conflict Escalates

In a significant development, the Israeli military has issued a call for over 1 million civilians in Gaza City to urgently relocate to the southern regions within the next 24 hours. This directive, communicated by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), emphasizes safety concerns amid ongoing military operations and the presence of Hamas terrorists in the city. The IDF urges civilians to move to the area south of Wadi Gaza for their own safety, citing the ongoing conflict with Hamas.

Simultaneously, the United Nations (U.N.) has disclosed that it received communication from the Israeli military and Ministry of Defense instructing Palestinians in northern Gaza to relocate south. The U.N. spokesman, Stephane Dujarric, underscores the humanitarian implications of this directive, expressing deep concern about the potential devastating consequences. The order applies to approximately 1.1 million people, including those in U.N. facilities such as schools, health centers, and clinics.

Mr. Dujarric notes that the U.N. considers it impossible for such a mass movement to occur without severe humanitarian consequences. The U.N. strongly appeals for the rescission of the order, highlighting the risk of transforming an already tragic situation into a calamitous one. Meanwhile, The U.N. has not immediately responded to a request for comment from The Epoch Times, leaving the situation in Gaza City in a precarious and tense state.
