President Donald Trump issued a stern warning on Tuesday, declaring that the United States military will significantly escalate airstrikes against Iran’s critical infrastructure unless Tehran returns to the negotiating table. Speaking during a Fox News interview on July 14, Trump stated that the U.S. is prepared to target Iranian power plants and bridges starting next week. The warning follows the collapse of a brief, U.S.-brokered ceasefire that was established last month to halt ongoing hostilities.
According to the President, the upcoming military actions will systematically disable Iran’s energy grid and transportation networks to pressure the regime into a comprehensive deal. Beyond infrastructure, Trump emphasized that the U.S. is closely monitoring Pickaxe Mountain, a heavily fortified Iranian nuclear facility, warning of immediate strikes if any nuclear activity is detected. The administration’s primary objectives remain securing a permanent halt to Iran’s nuclear weapons program and fully reopening the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.
The latest escalation comes amid intense exchanges of missile and drone strikes between U.S. and Iranian forces. Following recent Iranian attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. military officially reimposed a full naval blockade on Iranian ports on July 14. U.S. Central Command confirmed a massive military footprint in the region, with over 20 warships and hundreds of combat aircraft currently deployed across the Middle East to maintain absolute combat readiness.
In retaliation to the blockade, Iranian armed forces launched drone and missile strikes targeting U.S. military installations in Kuwait and Bahrain. Kuwait’s military reported that its air defense systems successfully intercepted hostile Iranian drones on July 15, urging citizens to remain vigilant. This rapid spiral of violence marks a definitive end to the brief June 17 ceasefire, reigniting a conflict that initially erupted in late February when joint U.S. and Israeli operations targeted Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.
