Payam Javan: Renowned South Korean actor Lee Sun-kyun, famous for his role in the Oscar-winning film “Parasite,” was discovered dead in a car in Seoul on Wednesday.

The discovery followed an intense police investigation into allegations of his drug use. Authorities initially found Lee in an unconscious state in the parked car, and emergency responders later confirmed his death.

The 48-year-old actor had been reported missing by his family, who disclosed that he left home after leaving a message resembling a suicide note. While police did not provide further details, South Korean media outlets suggested a possible suicide. Lee’s body was transported to a nearby Seoul hospital.

The actor, known for his stellar performances in both film and television, had faced police probes related to allegations of illegal drug use at a bar hostess’s residence, insisting that he was deceived into taking the drugs without knowledge of their nature.
