Former President Trump Backs Texas Call for National Guard to Address Border Crisis

Payam Javan: Former President Donald Trump has called on states to deploy National Guard troops to Texas to address the issue of illegal immigrants along the U.S.-Mexico border.

The move comes amid tensions between Texas and the Biden administration over the use of razor wire fencing. Trump expressed support for Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who recently invoked the “invasion clause” of the U.S. Constitution, arguing that the influx of illegal immigrants constitutes an invasion that the Biden administration has failed to address.

Trump accused President Biden of actively facilitating a “massive invasion” and hindering Texas’ efforts to protect its borders. Despite a recent Supreme Court ruling in favor of the Biden administration, Abbott remains committed to adding more razor wire for border security. The White House has not yet responded to the situation.
