Payam Javan: Broadway Across Canada is set to bring the theatrical production of “Clue: Live on Stage” to Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre. Running from July 28 to August 2, the stage adaptation offers audiences a live-action rendition of the classic murder-mystery, blending suspense with comedy. The play is based on the 1985 feature film and inspired by the iconic Hasbro board game first introduced in 1949.

The narrative of the 80-minute production centers around a dinner party at the mysterious Boddy Manor that quickly turns lethal. Six distinct characters—Miss Scarlet, Colonel Mustard, Mrs. Peacock, Mrs. White, Professor Plum, and Mr. Green—become immediate suspects when a murder occurs. As the plot unfolds, the audience is invited to piece together the clues to identify the killer, the weapon used, and the location of the crime before another victim is claimed.

To bring the classic board game to life, the production utilizes rotating stage sets that recreate the familiar rooms of the mansion. The performance is characterized by its fast-paced delivery, incorporating elements of slapstick humor, witty dialogue, blackmail, and classic red herrings. This combination aims to deliver a nostalgic yet fresh entertainment experience that appeals to both long-time fans of the game and theater enthusiasts.

The upcoming performances will take place at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, located at 630 Hamilton Street in Vancouver.
