Border Crisis Deepens: Trump Vows to Address Illegal Immigration with Massive Deportation Measures

Payam Javan: Former President Donald Trump declared plans for a major deportation initiative targeting illegal immigrants if reelected in November. Speaking during a Fox News town hall on Jan. 10, Trump emphasized the need for the “largest deportation effort in the history” of the United States, citing concerns about the sustainability of having millions of undocumented immigrants.

He criticized the Biden Administration for border chaos, pledged to complete the southern border wall, and referred to a New York City incident where students were displaced to accommodate migrants.

The announcement comes amid a reported historic high of over 6 million non-detained illegal immigrants crossing the border. Trump has consistently raised concerns about the impact of illegal immigration, stating that it is “destroying our country” and alleging that the number could reach 15 million or more by the end of President Joe Biden’s term.
