The remarks came during an interview with Sharyl Attkisson, where Trump expressed that if unsuccessful in the upcoming election, it would likely be his last attempt. Trump remains hopeful about his chances in 2024, while addressing various national issues such as inflation, illegal immigration, and the economy.

During the interview, Trump outlined his plan to combat inflation, emphasizing the need to reduce energy costs by 50% within a year. He also discussed concerns about national security, particularly in light of two recent assassination attempts against him. When asked about his personal safety, Trump acknowledged his worries, particularly regarding the security of his family, but shared limited details about the incidents. Trump further criticized the current state of illegal immigration, linking it to increased dangers in the U.S.

The two assassination attempts against Trump occurred in Pennsylvania and Florida, with both incidents under FBI investigation. The most recent took place on Sept. 15 at his Florida golf course, where a suspect, Ryan Routh, allegedly attempted to target Trump. Routh, who has been linked to pro-Ukraine sentiments, is facing firearms charges and will make a court appearance on Sept. 23. Meanwhile, another shooter in Pennsylvania, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, was killed after firing at Trump during a rally. No further threats to Trump’s family have been reported.
