Payam Javan: Pakistani social media influencer Shamsu Bibi, known online to her 1.3 million followers as Ayesha Gilamana, was fatally shot inside a moving vehicle near Taxila, Pakistan, on August 14. The 28-year-old content creator died from a gunshot wound to the neck, while her two younger siblings suffered injuries when their vehicle subsequently lost control and collided with a dump truck.

According to the First Information Report filed by the victim’s father, the incident occurred after Bibi received a phone call from an individual identified as Kashif, prompting her to leave her residence with her brother and sister. CCTV footage obtained by local media reportedly showed two assailants on a motorcycle waiting near a local market before pulling alongside the family’s vehicle and opening fire.

Law enforcement officials have initiated an investigation, focusing on a suspected land dispute as the primary motive for the targeted attack. The victim’s father stated to the police that Bibi had recently sold a plot of land to two individuals, identified as Kausar and Javed, and had subsequently received threats after demanding the outstanding payment for the transaction.

The Taxila Police Station has registered a case involving charges of murder, attempted murder, and abetment. Authorities have identified three key suspects originally from the Lower Dir district of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, and specialized police teams have conducted raids across multiple locations in an effort to apprehend those responsible.

Despite ongoing police operations, no arrests had been officially made in the days immediately following the attack. In an interview with local media, the victim’s brother, who survived the shooting, called upon Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to personally intervene in the case to ensure a thorough investigation and swift justice.

The tragic death of the popular digital creator, whose social media accounts were set to private following the incident, highlights ongoing safety concerns for online personalities.
