Multinational Research Flags Safety Concerns Following COVID-19 Vaccination

Payam Javan: A multinational study involving over 99 million vaccinated individuals has revealed higher-than-expected incidences of neurological, cardiovascular, and blood disorder complications following COVID-19 vaccination. Published in the Vaccine journal on Feb. 12, the peer-reviewed study assessed the risk of 13 adverse events of special interest (AESI) across three categories—neurological, hematologic, and cardiovascular—spanning data from eight nations.

The study investigated Pfizer, Moderna, and AstraZeneca vaccines, identifying potential safety signals for conditions such as Guillain-Barre syndrome, cerebral venous sinus thrombosis, myocarditis, and pericarditis. A statistically significant increase in Guillain-Barre syndrome cases was observed after the first AstraZeneca shot, and other conditions, including Bell’s palsy, acute disseminated encephalomyelitis, and cardiovascular issues, also showed higher-than-expected cases.

Researchers noted that risks varied among vaccine types, with vector-based vaccines like AstraZeneca showing higher risks for certain conditions. The study was funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other organizations, and researchers emphasized the need for ongoing monitoring.

In response to these findings, The Epoch Times reached out to Moderna, Pfizer, and AstraZeneca for comments. Meanwhile, recent studies have raised concerns about the safety of COVID-19 vaccines, including a link between booster shots and heart inflammation in adolescents, adverse effects on the immune system from mRNA boosters, and the potential spread of vaccine mRNA to the placenta.

Additionally, some studies suggest that the COVID-19 mRNA vaccines may cause more harm than benefit, with concerns raised about potential shedding of vaccine proteins. These findings contribute to the ongoing debate surrounding vaccine safety and highlight the importance of continued research and monitoring.
