Hunter Biden Indicted on Nine Counts of Tax Evasions

Payam Javan: Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, faces a nine-count indictment in California, including three felony tax offenses and six misdemeanor tax offenses.

The charges allege that between 2016 and 2019, Hunter Biden spent over $1.4 million on a lavish lifestyle and drugs instead of fulfilling his tax obligations. The indictment accuses him of using funds for expenses such as drugs, escorts, luxury hotels, and more, rather than paying taxes. The charges include failure to pay taxes and failure to file tax returns for specific years.

If convicted on all counts, Hunter Biden could face a maximum penalty of 17 years in prison. The indictment follows a collapsed plea deal in July, which linked tax crimes to felony gun charges.

Republicans have launched investigations into the DOJ’s handling of the case and Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings.
