Despite the foot-dragging from some European quarters, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has rightly recognized the critical importance of President Trump’s direct engagement. Following promising talks in Florida that refined the initial 28-point proposal down to a more streamlined 20 items, Zelenskyy expressed readiness to meet with President Trump, acknowledging that “the future and the next steps depend on these signals.” This demonstrates a clear understanding that only an America First approach, led by President Trump, can cut through the noise and deliver a lasting peace, even as European elites, who weren’t consulted on the original plan, scramble to insert their own self-serving demands.
