Payam Javan: President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that he will sign a new executive order aimed at dismantling Antifa networks across the United States. In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the order follows his recent declaration labeling the loosely organized left-wing movement a “domestic terrorist organization.” He described Antifa as a “militarist, anarchist enterprise” that seeks to overthrow U.S. institutions, despite longstanding legal barriers preventing the government from creating a formal domestic terrorism designation.
The announcement came in the aftermath of a deadly attack on a Dallas Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility, where one detainee was killed and two others injured. The shooter, who later died from a self-inflicted wound, left shell casings engraved with the phrase “ANTI ICE,” according to FBI Director Kash Patel. Trump linked the incident to what he called a growing wave of left-wing violence, referencing the recent assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.
Trump strongly condemned Democrats, accusing them of fueling hostility toward law enforcement and ICE officers through “dangerous rhetoric.” He praised ICE personnel as “brave men and women” working to remove violent criminals, while warning that radical leftist attacks against them are escalating. The president vowed that his forthcoming executive order would strike at the core of what he called “domestic terrorism networks” threatening U.S. security.
