Vance and his wife, Usha, traveled aboard Air Force Two to Salt Lake City, where they joined Kirk’s family and supporters. At Roland R. Wright Air National Guard Base, Kirk’s casket was placed aboard the vice president’s aircraft for transport to Phoenix. The solemn ceremony was attended by military personnel and mourners.

Upon arrival in Arizona, Vance personally helped carry the casket, offering a visible gesture of solidarity with Kirk’s family. His actions reflected both the depth of their friendship and the national significance placed on Kirk’s passing among conservative circles.
