Payam Javan: U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday announced he is drastically shortening a 50-day deadline he had given Russia regarding the war in Ukraine, stating he was “disappointed” in Russian President Vladimir Putin. Speaking from his golf resort in Scotland alongside British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Trump declared his intention to set a much faster timeline. He later specified the new deadline for Moscow would be between 10 and 12 days.

The president’s announcement came ahead of a formal meeting with Prime Minister Starmer at his resort in western Scotland. According to officials from both governments, the two leaders are scheduled to hold talks covering a range of topics. The agenda includes discussions on their recent bilateral trade agreement and strategies to address the worsening hunger crisis in Gaza.
