The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that 146.6 million people have been infected with the Sars-CoV-2 virus and have survived it

Payam Javan: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has discreetly admitted that much more people have natural immunity than previously thought. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that 146.6 million people have been infected with the Sars-CoV-2 virus and have survived it.

The CDC updated its May figures in October following five months of not doing so.

The CDC estimates that 124 million of the 146.6 million infections resulted in “symptomatic illnesses,” yet it’s unclear why only one out of every four infections required medical attention. The CDC also projected 7.5 million hospitalizations, although ‘hospitalizations’ could include normal treatment that resulted in a positive Covid-19 test, increasing the figures significantly.

The 921,000 “estimated total deaths” are the most exaggerated of all. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) tracks “Covid-related deaths,” not deaths caused by Covid-19. That’s because 94 percent of Covid-related deaths were caused by major medical illnesses including heart disease, stroke, or diabetes. While Covid-19 may have played a role in the timing of a patient’s death, the great majority of deaths happened in immunocompromised or elderly individuals. In 2020, the average age of Covid-related mortality was 77 years old, which was significantly below life expectancy.

Even though 146.6 million is a large number of people, accounting for at least 44 percent of the US population, the CDC’s earlier estimates suggest that it may be an underestimate. In May, the CDC projected that at least 120 million Americans had been infected with Covid-19. Because the CDC predicted (and continues to estimate) that there have been at least four Covid infections for every case reported, 187.6 million Americans have been infected and hence have ‘natural immunity,’ based on the 46.9 million cases recorded.

The CDC, on the other hand, may mix breakthrough and unvaccinated cases, as well as add recurrent cases per person, creating some confusion. According to CDC data, 160 million people had Covid-19 through prior infections, according to Becker News. This figure is roughly in the middle of the anticipated range of 146.6 million to 187.6 million people.

Natural immunity is stronger protection against Covid-19 than vaccinated immunity, according to studies published in October by Reuters. “Secondary immune response stronger after infection than vaccination,” it stated plainly. A previous Israeli study came to the same results.

“This study demonstrated that natural immunity confers longer-lasting and stronger protection against infection, symptomatic disease and hospitalization caused by the Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2, compared to the BNT162b2 two-dose vaccine-induced immunity,” an Israeli study said.
