Payam Javan: David DeLuca of Sicklerville, New Jersey, will never know if an out-of-state doctor’s treatment for Ivermectin could have spared his wife’s life. Colleen DeLuca, 62, died of COVID-19 on October 10 at Jefferson Washington Township Hospital in Sewell, New Jersey, before a court order to provide the medicine could be obtained.

Although ivermectin has benefited in certain situations, many hospitals in the United States do not include it in their COVID treatment protocol and refuse to use it, even as a last resort on a dying patient.

Ralph Lorigo, a Buffalo, New York attorney, has spent the last 11 months representing families who want to try Ivermectin but need a court order to force hospitals to deliver the treatment. DeLuca had Lorigo draft court papers, but because Lorigo does not practice in New Jersey, he told DeLuca to seek a New Jersey lawyer to file the paperwork and handle the case. DeLuca, on the other hand, was unable to locate an attorney ready to take on the case.

California indoor mask requirement has been extended until mid-February to help prevent hospitals from becoming overwhelmed by coronavirus infections
