Payam Javan: A shooting at a private Christian grade school in Nashville has left three children and three adults dead, including the female teenage shooter who was armed with two rifles and a pistol, according to authorities.
The Covenant School, a Presbyterian school with around 200 students from preschool through sixth grade, was placed on lockdown as police with rifles, heavy vests, and helmets searched the area.
Other students walked to safety, holding hands and surrounded by police cars, to a nearby church to be reunited with their parents.
The school was founded as a ministry of Covenant Presbyterian Church in 2001 and is located in the affluent Green Hill neighborhood of Nashville.
