Payam Javan: U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said on Tuesday that President Donald Trump will chair a meeting at the White House on Wednesday dedicated to the situation in Gaza. Witkoff added that Washington expects the conflict between Israel and Palestinian factions in the territory could reach a conclusion by the end of the year.
The envoy’s comments signal a renewed U.S. effort to shape the trajectory of the crisis, as Washington seeks to balance its support for Israel with calls for de-escalation and humanitarian relief. While no agenda for the White House session has been publicly released, the discussions are likely to address prospects for a ceasefire and broader regional stability.
Separately, the State Department confirmed that Secretary of State Marco Rubio will meet Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar in Washington on Wednesday. The talks are expected to cover bilateral relations, security cooperation, and international efforts to address the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
