A funnel cloud was identified as an EF-U tornado filmed in Isleton on Thursday afternoon

Payam Javan: A funnel cloud was identified as an EF-U tornado filmed in Isleton on Thursday afternoon. Another funnel cloud touched down around the same time, this time near San Joaquin County.

This was more than four hours before a tornado warning was issued for San Joaquin, Calaveras, and Amador counties, While this isn’t ordinary in California, it occurs almost every year.

NWS meteorologists were aware of the possibility of weak tornadoes as early as Wednesday. They issued a tornado warning shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The San Joaquin County of Emergency Services issued a warning to “take cover now” less than 10 minutes later. The warning, was definitely not exaggerated.

California, sees an average of 11 tornadoes per year. In recent times, the National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued 13 tornado warnings.
