53% of people wanted Trump to return to Twitter

Payam Javan: With 15 hours remaining to vote, Elon Musk’s poll asking Twitter users if former president Donald Trump should be reinstated on the service had received 7,683,554 votes as of 4:00 a.m. ET on November 19. With 53% of the vote, “Yes” votes are currently in the majority. In a subsequent tweet, Musk penned the Latin phrase “Vos Populi, Vox Dei,” which means “the voice of the people is the voice of God.”

Regarding the popular poll, Musk most recently tweeted, “Trump poll getting 1M votes/hour!”

Trump’s ban was dubbed “flat-out foolish” by Musk, who also claimed that it “alienated a large part of the country did not ultimately resulting in Donald Trump not having a voice.” He stated that only bots, spam and scam accounts should be subject to bans.

After the Capital breach incident on January 6, during which Trump was accused of encouraging violence, he was suspended from Twitter despite having advised his followers to demonstrate peacefully and legally.
